Impulsivity – I Failed to Tell You About

There is somewhat of a running joke in our Greenville office about hitting the “send” button before we are actually finished with our message and I have to say that it is this same impulsiveness that got in my way in failing to share information on Dr. Sheila Woods.

Dr. Woods is our Pediatrician in our Greenville, SC office and has been a primary contributor to the blog thus far. I actually feel quite guilty for failing to share more about her and her incredible background with everyone. Dr. Woods is not only extremely bright, experienced and talented she is also kind, accepting and honest.

After practicing General Pediatrics for 30 years Dr. Woods feels privileged to open a new practice Focus MD, dedicated to the treatment of children suffering from Attention Deficit Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.  In her 30 years of practice, she spent 12 years in private practice settings and 18 years as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Kentucky.

Over the years, Dr. Woods has been very fortunate to teach medical students and pediatric residents and has received various awards over the years. A turning point in her career, was her selection to participate in a Mini-Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychopharmacology offered by the Department of Child Psychiatry at Columbia University in New York. This sparked her current passion of taking care of patients with behavioral health issues and especially ADD and ADHD.

Dr. Woods believes success in learning is so important to children and their families, as it sets the stage for a fulfilling future, but in some patients, that success can be very difficult to attain. Her commitment to evaluate and design individual treatment plans for children, adolescents, and their families is unparalleled in the Greenville, South Carolina area.

Dr. Woods is not just our Pediatrician in Greenville, she is a mother, grandmother, teacher, friend and promoter! Patients enjoy going to her for her support and honest and straightforward yet warm approach. She will keep you accountable to help you be the best you possibly can be.

Dr Woods is looking for a colleague to join her at our Greenville office; should you happen to know of a Family Physician or Internist committed to ADHD diagnosis, treatment and follow-up please feel free to share this with them.
